How We Help
Assessment and Treatment Services
At our clinic, we recognize that diagnostic labels can be either helpful or harmful.
Having a diagnostic assessment can be helpful if you feel overwhelmed and confused trying to make sense of your internal experiences, believe you have been misdiagnosed in the past, or require a diagnosis to be able to access other resources.
However, we caution against receiving a diagnostic assessment simply for the sake of having a diagnosis. The reality is that our mental health is impacted by many situational factors including our workplace culture, relationships, financial stability, and systemic issues such as racism and discrimination. Sometimes, a mental health diagnosis does not capture the complexity of our environment and the influence it has on our overall health.
Psychologists have extensive training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions. If you are interested in a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, please feel free to reach out to discuss your options. If you are interested in treatment, please know that you do not require an assessment. Your therapist will work with you to put together a holistic treatment plan that takes into account your physical, mental, and social health. All of our treatment approaches are trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive.
